Maumee, Ohio… Surface Combustion, Inc. has received an order for a Uni-BLUETM Atmosphere Furnace and companion equipment from Jore Corporation located in Ronan, Montana. Jore Corporation is a leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of innovative power tool accessories and hand tools for the do-it-yourself and professional craftsman markets.
The Uni-BLUE atmosphere furnace is the latest extension of Surface’s Uni-DRAW® and MetaLinedTM batch furnace product lines. The Uni-BLUE furnace design is a unique “inside/out” construction, consisting of an internal stainless steel casing assembly with an external layer of insulation and light gauge steel/metal covering. This design protects the insulation from contaminants which would otherwise impregnate the insulation lining of conventionally designed furnaces.
The furnace design (patented for the Uni-DRAW product line under U.S. patent # 4,963,091) provides for a circular wind flow along the inside of the furnace’s internal casing, providing good atmosphere and/or steam distribution throughout the furnace. The high convection fan system also provides excellent temperature uniformity within the effective workload area.
The furnace will be electrically heated with sheathed type heating elements, preventing the direct exposure of the actual heating elements to the furnace atmosphere. The furnace will be capable of processing a 36″ wide by 48″ long by 36″ high workload to a maximum furnace operating temperature of 1100ºF. Also included in the Uni-BLUE furnace design are four (4) specially designed Surface Intra-Kool? water-cooled finned tubes (U.S. patent # 5,035,610) for quickly cooling workloads thereby reducing overall cycle times.
The purchased companion equipment consists of a Surface standard design spray-dunk type washer unit and two (2) scissor lift tables capable of handling the previously described effective workload size.
As a world leader in the heat treat furnace and associated equipment industry, Surface Combustion has 90 years of experience in designing and manufacturing furnace systems and companion equipment for its customers’ processing needs.
