March 24, 2020
On March 22, 2020, Governor DeWine announced that Dr. Acton, Director of the Ohio Department of Health (ODH), issued a Stay at Home Order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the State of Ohio beginning 11:59pm, March 23 and continuing until 11:59pm, April 6, 2020. All Essential Businesses and Operations were encouraged to stay open.
Under Sections 12(q) and 12(v) of the Health Director’s Order, as well as Order sections relating to Critical Infrastructure, Surface Combustion is considered an Essential Business as a provider for critical industrial products and services to numerous essential business operations including medical component manufacturing, food manufacturing, power generation, agriculture, transportation, metals manufacturing companies, and defense and government agencies. Our customers rely on Surface to supply their equipment and to keep their existing equipment operating in order to provide the goods needed to respond to the COVID-19 virus spread and provide essential goods for the general population.
However, per the Order, Surface is modifying how we operate to help “flatten the curve.” We have limited access to our buildings to essential personnel, eliminated access for any non-essential visitors, and implemented social distancing and additional cleaning practices per guidelines set by the Ohio Department of Health and CDC.
We will continue to effectively and efficiently serve our customers during this trying time. Our headquarters in Maumee will be operating on a staggered shift schedule (7:00am-2:00pm or 2:00pm-9:00pm) to limit the number of people in the facility at one time. Many employees will be working from home.
We encourage all customers and suppliers to continue to email or call their Surface point of contact. Additionally, you may reach us on our main line at 419.891.7150 or at [email protected] These messages will be routed to the appropriate personnel in order to respond to your request.
Our manufacturing facility in Waterville is working under their normal operational hours with limited access.
Rest assured that Surface is here for you and is committed to keeping our nation’s essential supply chains up and running. We have a long, proud history of serving our customers and our country. Please do not hesitate to reach out and let us know how we can support you.
