DX® Exothermic Generator Combustion Barrel Reline/Replacement
The DX® Generator combustion chamber barrel assembly is suspended in the center of the cooler by the cover plate and can be removed from the top for maintenance purposes. Surface® offers both refractory relines or complete combustion barrel replacements depending on the requirements.
Used On:
New and existing DX® generators of all sizes
Replace:
If the burner is having trouble lighting or staying lit, inspect the combustion barrel and replace if the refractory shows cracks or wear.
Retrofit:
Early DX® Generator designs may contain a carbon steel combustion barrel. Upgrade to the most contemporary stainless-steel casing design for longer life.

- Up to 10 weeks without a spare barrel to exchange
- 1-2 days with a spare barrel to exchange
DX® Combustion Barrel Swap:
Reline your existing combustion chamber barrel with new castable refractory or replace it for a new one. Choosing both a direct replacement and relining of the existing combustion chamber barrel facilitates swapping the barrel out during regularly scheduled maintenance shutdowns.
