Minispangle Systems

Minispangle Systems - Product Description

Surface® Combustion has a long history with continuous annealing lines and a sizeable installed base of minispangle systems worldwide. Our process knowledge and engineering expertise allow us to work with you to determine the best solution possible for your product, process, and space.

The minispangle is a companion system to continuous galvanizing strip lines. This system is located downstream of the zinc pot and applies zinc powder to the strip which minimizes the galvanized “spangles” allowing for improved downstream coating processes including painting. Minispangle systems can be integrated into both horizontal and vertical annealing lines and are crane mounted directly above the zinc pot area of the galvanizing line.

Line speeds up to 600 ft. per minute

Strip widths up to 72 in.

Strip thicknesses from 0.005 in. to 0.25 in.

Maximum operating temperatures up to 2200°F

Pre-cooler systems available to increase system capacity

Edge-Center-Edge cooling technology to improve coating profile across strip width

Companion atmosphere zinc feeders, edge burners and pre-coolers available

There are furnaces, and then there are Surface® furnaces
